VCON 19.5 (Relaxacon)

Dates: May 22nd-24th, 1992
Venue: The Relax Plaza Hotel, Richmond
Multiple-Purpose Guest of Honour: Don H. DeBrandt

Still recovering from the aftereffects of hosting Westercon 44, B.C. fandom held a "relaxacon" in 1992: a small, intimate con. The motto was "Small But Deadly," and the programming (minimal though it was) fit the theme. The con featured an "undead film festival" (focusing on ghosts, vampires and "constructs"), a mad hatter's hatmaking workshop and tea party, a "Quest for the Unholy Grail" scavenger hunt, tag-team massage, panels on drugs, disease, and safe sex, a bondage workshop, turkey readings, and a pre-cancelled "Obscenely Early Panel" at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
