Although Forrest Ackerman was unable to attend, VCON 15 offered fans a fond look back into the history of science fiction. The program book featured "stuff stolen from nearly everywhere" including weird and wonderful ads from comic books and SF magazines of days gone by for such interesting products as "nose adjusters" and "baby tanks." Panels covered such topics as "Why Did I Start Reading Science Fiction," teaching SF in prison, forgotten writers of the "golden age" of SF, early fanzines, and the first six decades of fantasy writing. There was also a trivia quiz, a safer sex demonstration by AIDS Vancouver, broadcasts of old-time SF radio shows, a writers' workshop, videos from the 1962 Seattle world's fair, a Canadian Unity Fan Fund auction, and slide shows of the 1940 Chicon I and 1941 Denvention I.
