VCON 12
Dates: May 25th-27th, 1984 Those attending VCON 12 were offered a tour of the UBC TRIUMF facility, as well as readings of "scary stories" at midnight. There were panels on survival novels, amateur film making, the U.S. space program, Dr. Who, gays in SF fandom, and Star Trek. The con asked the question "Why not SF Westerns?" and offered a poetry workshop and an "adult storytime." There was a talk by the L5 Society on the feasibility of a space station, and a new radio show, "The Ether Patrol" was introduced. (It's still running on Vancouver's Co-op radio station, FM 102.7, on Wednesday nights.)
