The membership card shows Chuckie the Beaver (RAIN's mascot) chucking aside his propellor beanie to reveal a French beret... an ad shows Chuckie in a sinking rowboat under the heading "Rain un, deux, trois, quatre, SANK! (Cinq)... the cover of BCSFAzine #117 (Feb 1983) shows a frog in a beret busting thru a hoop held by Chuckie, with the heading: Special issue! BCSFA goes Bicultural! Introducing Marcel the Wonder Frog (under protest from Chuckie.)" Inside it is stated "About the cover: Meet Chuckie's new aide d'camp. Marcel, the blatant political overtones of his formulation not withstanding. He will be as big a thorn in Chuckie's side as those doers of evil they must face. Created by Warren Oddsson in honour of Rain Cinq, our first bicultural Rain convention."
