MINUTES OF  WCSFA/BCSFA MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 1993

Meeting was called to order at 8:15 pm, September 25, 1993. Steve Forty keeping minutes.

Present were: Cllnt Budd, Delphine Kelly, Ed Hutchings, S.40, Kathleen Moore‑Freeman (and daughter Madeline), Stewart Smyth, Frances Higginson, Doug & Lisa Girling, Al Betz, Howard Cherniack, Ed Beauregard, Janet Wilson, Alexis McPherson, Stan Hyde, at least three invited guests (and the next few arrived in time for the trivia quiz), Tony Sommers, Don Debrandt, and Brian Dubberly.

Minutes from the previous meeting adopted Al Betz moved, Howard 2nd.

Discussion on the combined executive to form one as in last months BCSFAzine. It will be known as BCSFA, but legally as WCSFA (West Coast Science Fiction Association).

MOTION: That WCSFA operate under the name of BCSFA except when dealing with the provincial government and registration for bank accounts.

S. 40 moves, Graeme 2nds. Accepted Unanimous.

MOTION that Alexis be made Member at Large until the end of October meeting.

Lisa moved, Steve 2nd. Unanimous.

NOMINATIONS opened for the new Executive to be elected at the October AGM. (October 16, 1993 at S.40’s)

Since there is a contested position (secretary) a returning officer had to be appointed, Graeme accepts.

Steve moved that the club sell its' Gestetner equipment and supplies along with 5. 40's equipment. Kathleen seconds ‑ Unanimous acceptance.

Al moves to adjourn ‑ 8.40 2nds ‑Unanimous

Social evening : (Sec. note‑ the trivia quizz went very well and everyone seemed to have a good time • thanks to Al for the equipment and questions, and to Ed Beauregard for being trivia master).

If you want to buy a whole bunch of Gestetner Mimeo's with different color Ink in each machine along with some tubes of ink with various colors, and a load of mimeo paper, 2 and 1/2 electrostencll cutters with electrostencils, please make an offer. Machines will need some cleaning and lubrication due to lack of use he last 2 years.
