WCSFA/BCSFA EXECUTIVE MINUTES,
AUGUST 29, 1993 MEETING
Meeting called to order at 7:20 PM,
Present at the meeting: Lisa Smedman, Clint Budd, Al Betz, Alexis Macpherson, Graeme Cameron, Steve Forty.
Questions to be raised concerned:
I) Combining executives of BCSFA and WCSFA.
2) BCSFA Bylaws ‑‑ which ones are In force? At present BCSFA operates Independently of WCSFA (see BCSFAzlnes #237 & #238),
Alexis MacPherson appointed WCSFA Member At Large till end of term.
General discussion ensued on combining the two executives and coming up with an operating constitution. Lisa Smedman wants one constitution combining the two.

MOTION:
Clint moved that the executives of BCSFA and WCSFA In principle be combined.
S.40 seconds. More discussion and then vote. Passed unanimously
MOTION:
Clint moved that the combined executive operate under B.C,5.F.A. except in legal and official dealings with the B.C. government.
S.40 seconds, Discussion follows. Al wants BCSFA funds and expenses indicated separately to keep control of club finances. Moved and accepted unanimously,
New list of duties for offices and new executive composed of seven positions (Graeme will list duties elsewhere in this BCSFAzIne) Offices are: President) Vice‑President/Club Liason, Secretary, Newsletter Editor, Treasurer, Social Convenor and (the seventh position was added after much discussion and after the following motion was passed) Member‑At‑Large.
MOTION:
Lisa moved that we adopt in principle the change to adopt a sixperson executive as listed above. Term of office beginning at the close of the business meeting in October. In future years nominations in September, voting in October.
Al Betz seconds. Passed unanimously.
MOTION:
Clint moved that BCSFA and WCSFA be combined, that the current BCSFA executives term of office end at the close of business at the October meeting.
S,40 second. Passed unanimously.
Clint asks for a one-day event. A Murder Mystery dinner (murder by thing) ‑‑ it would need a minimum of 20 people, at $35.00 per person. The dinner would be a four-course meal and the play would be included (Murder Mystery). The choice of dinners is steak or chicken. This would have to be done by pre‑registration so we know we have enough people for the 20-person minimum, Time would probably be late October or early November. Maximum number of people is about 35.
MOTION:
Lisa moved that WCSFA sponsor a Murder Mystery dinner night, which Clint will organize.
S,40 second. All in favour, with Clint abstaining.
MOTION:
Clint moved that the position of member at large be added to the previous list of executive. The member at large would be an elected position; duties to be defined by executive as needed, to expire as all other offices (i.e. close of October general meeting).
Lisa seconds the motion, all but one in favour, Al abstains,
The annual general meeting will take place at Steve Forty's place on October 16th starting at 7:00 pm.
The election of officers will be the first order of business. The social part of the evening will involve a video/laser disc movie night.
Meeting adjourned at 9:21 pm.
