WCSFA MEETING MINUTES

Attending: Clint Budd, President; Donna McMahon, Treasurer, Lisa Smedman, BCSFA Rep: Garth Spencer, Vice‑President Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M. June 30/93 at Clint and Donna's apartment, Clint chairing.

Lisa presented an article she had written for insertion in the upcoming BCSFAz1ne summarizing results of the advisory meeting held at her house Saturday, June 26th.

Discussion followed. It was moved and passed that Graeme should be authorized to spend the extra money necessary to expand the number of pages in BCSFAzine to include the article without excluding any of the regular articles.

It was decided that the WCSFA executive would recommend to the General Membership the general adoption of the recommendations of the advisory meeting ‑ in particular the following plans:

1. That the club move in a new direction to rebuild its membership, morale, and expertise through holding a series of events that will provide innovative ways to explore the interests of members.

2. That instead of holding a full‑scale VCON next year, the club sponsor a smaller two‑day event with tightly‑focused programming, not called VCON. A different date and venue are also recommended.

Passed with Garth abstaining.

It was agreed that a WCSFA General Meeting would be called for the afternoon of July 24/93, to be held at Douglas College, New Westminister and that the membership be asked to decide on this new direction. A phone committee should ask everyone to the meeting.
